Why do we wash our hands for bread?

A bit of quick torah that most people probably don't know. I learned this from Rabbi Mizrachi.

The reason we wash our hands is because of the Kohanim. The reason our Sages declared that all of us should wash is so that the Kohanim do not forget to wash their hands when the next Bais Hamikdash will be built.

The reward for those who do this mitzvah even though they are not requested is segulah for wealth! When you say the bracha "al netilas yedayim" if you take the first letter of each word it writes out "ani", poor. So if you don't want to be poor, don't be stingy and wash with a ton of water :)
